What is PEERS?
PEERS is for leaders in law enforcement, public safety, and communities who are committed to promoting equitable justice and racial sensitivity through monitoring, training, and evaluation within their police departments.
PEERS is an online resource for police and public safety leaders, trainers, administrators, and other executives and their communities who are committed to equity and effective racial sensitivity training/evaluation for all police department staff. PEERS presents resources and success stories of police departments dedicated to fair and equitable community policing.
PEERS is not a membership organization, and we do not accredit or certify police departments in any way. This is an interactive forum where police and public safety departments and the communities they serve can promote equity, strategic de-escalation techniques, and racial sensitivity training/evaluation. We want to showcase success stories of police departments that are making noteworthy strides in this area.
Mission & Vision Statements
Mission: To coordinate interactions with police leaders and the communities they serve to promote equity in policing practice, anti-racism, and ongoing dedication to genuine equal treatment under the law.
Vision: We envision a world where police leadership and concerned citizens promote and reinforce racial sensitivity, commit to strategic de-escalation, and embrace equitable practices throughout the criminal justice system. This will be achieved through intentional and diligent monitoring, evaluation, and training.
